:speaking_head: Foreword

Thank for taking the time to fill this bug report fully. Without it we may not be able to fix the bug, and the issue may be closed without resolution.

:ghost: Brief Description

Wrong source list generation for Debian 11

:pancakes: Cookbook version

10.1.2

:woman_cook: Chef-Infra Version

17.7.2.

:tophat: Platform details

Debian 11

Steps To Reproduce

Add cookbook to run list

:police_car: Expected behavior

Valid apt source list generated

:heavy_plus_sign: Additional context

It looks like there is no valid definition for Debian 11 https://github.com/sous-chefs/docker/blob/main/libraries/docker_installation_package.rb#L38-L46

E: Malformed entry 1 in list file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/Docker.list (Component)

 cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/Docker.list
deb [arch=amd64] https://download.docker.com/linux/debian stable

It should be

Something must be triggering the ohai data to not return something correctly.

It is not clean install. It was debian 8 or 9 initially. Probably something is left from older versions. Or ohai output is the only source of truth?

iis_app not actually converting to app

Cookbook version 8.0.1 Chef-client version 15.8.23

Platform Details Microsoft Windows Server 2016

Scenario: Using the iis_app as part of my cookbook (along with the base iis::default recipe, and iis_site and iis_pool as well), the resultant configuration in IIS doesn't actually add the app (even though the Chef run logs it as successful). The directory containing the app shows up under the associated site, but I still have to manually use the "Convert to application..." context menu in the UI to make it an app.

Steps to Reproduce: Create an IIS site (pointed to the default application pool, for example; iis_site successfully does this) Create a separate application pool for the app I'll be adding (iis_pool successfully does this) Create the application subdirectory under the site root (s3_file and aws_opsworks_archive successfully pulls a zip file from S3 and expands the application directory under the site root: c:\inetpub\siteRoot\appRoot, for example) Execute the iis_app resource which adds an app and links it to the site and appropriate application pool previously created by iis_site and iis_pool

Example resource block (using anonymized attribute references for this example):

iis_app 'Test_site' do

path '/Test_site'
application_pool 'TestApplicationpool'
physical_path 'D:\\inetpub\\wwwroot\\Test_site'
enabled_protocols :http
action :add

end Expected Result: The application should already be configured as such in the IIS console, linked to its assigned application pool, etc.

Actual Result: Although the directory for the application shows up under the site (as you would expect since it's under the siteRoot), it is not an actual application, just a directory. You still have to use the "Convert to application..." contextual menu in order to associate it with the application pool. It's as if iis_app didn't execute at all.

Perhaps I'm missing something.

User creation fails for MongoDB 4.x

When attempting to create users while using this cookbook with the new MongoDB stable 4.0 build, user creation fails with:

Database command 'createUser' failed: Use of SCRAM-SHA-256 requires undigested passwords

Likely related to: digestPassword https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/reference/command/createUser/#dbcmd.createUser

Changed in version 4.0: The default value is true. In earlier versions, the default value is false.
